All pets like to play with all sorts of toys, even if there are specific for each of them. Pet owners can choose from a wide variety of toys for their dogs so much so that it is possible to fill the entire house with these playthings and yet you will still be tempted to buy another one. If your beloved pet will have too many toys, he or she will use only one at a time and the rest will only get dirty.

Different Ways to Use Them

You can spend a lot of money on too many toys and this will be of no use, since the dog won’t play with them. Keep in mind that a dog only requires one toy for each purpose so it is a good idea to limit the playthings. You will this way avoid the chaos that too many toys all over your house will create.

In order to establish how many toys you have to buy, you should firstly know for what purposes are they useful, as your dog will need one for a specific activity. Though many of these dog toys can be used for multiple purposes, there are also specific ones.

• In the puppy stage of your pet he or she needs to develop its teeth, gums and jaws, so they need to chew a soft toy. During the teething period, when the puppy feels pain while its teeth emerge, chewing a soft toy will be of great relief for them.

• Physical exercise is critical to a dog’s overall health. Playing with toys is one such way to provide your dog with the opportunity to exercise and enjoy at the same time.

•Behavior issues appear in dogs that bore or have no good way to consume their excess of energy, so you can use some types of toys to stimulate your dog’s mind.

When you are buying food or supplies for your dog, buy also a dog toy from time to time, as this will offer pleasure for both you and your dog.

A Large and Various Offer

Not all dog toys are created equal to the purpose, however, so you must choose well. You need to take into consideration your dog’s age, size, health status and personality in order to choose the best toy among the types presented as follows.

• Distraction toys are obviously designed to provide a diversion for the dogs while its owners are busy doing something else. The food delivery toys, puzzle toys or chew toys are among the most wanted types of distraction toys.

• You can give them bones made of rubber, latex or actually bones of other animals. Dogs use to bury the bones they have enough chewing, in order to hide them from other animals. Bones have also sanitary use, as the dog will clean its teeth from plaque.

• The simplest toys are the sticks or the pinecones. Playing fetch will be as fun as ever using these homemade toys.

• Dogs love also to play go and get with balls. Be sure to choose a ball of the right size in relation to your dog’s mouth. You don’t want your dog to suffocate with a ball.

Toys made of rubber and/or latex is usually the most preferred types since these materials can withstand the use and abuse of the dog’s teeth. Think also if your dog can safely play. Keep in mind that safety is more important that enjoyment especially in the case of your beloved pet.
