A Dog Cannot Escape the Invisible Dog Fence

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Pomeranian!

In the special world of dog owners, a runner is different to a convict or sportsman. What do pet owners understand when they speak about runners? A runner is a dog that likes to get out of its confined area and run about on its own. These dogs are usually harmless, but they get bored while staying alone at home, having no companion to play with, seeing the same things happening every day, or they just need to exercise or to walk as they are active and intelligent animals. We all want our dogs to have as much freedom as they possibly can, but don’t let your energetic canine companion become prey to the dangers of the outside world. We can keep our dog at home through different methods, but most of them will not allow him the possibility to move for free within the whole space we dispose of at our homes, where it is safe for him. Nevertheless, a new option is now available on the market, and we speak about a special type of fencing system that is usually called the invisible dog fence..

All those people who don’t want to built any kind of physical fence to border their yard or even the entire property can now be relieved, because the invisible dog fence is in fact and electronic system composed of a central unit also called transmitter, a number of proximity sensors and a collar that will be worn by the dog. The collar is programmed to read when the dog is getting too close to the sensor and will start beeping as a warning sign, telling your dog not to go any further. If your pup doesn’t listen, the collar gives him or her a little shock that will tell your dog to get back into his or her designated fenced in area. Shocks are usually issued only when the dog is wearing the collar for the first time, because after a couple of pulses there will be no more need of them, as your dog will learn to stop when hearing the warning beep.

The major issue most people have with these fences is that they believe the shock the collar gives their dog is inhumane treatment. Maybe this belief was true in 1971, when the invisible dog fence has been first invented, but since then the whole containment system drastically improved. You can experience at home static shocks that are even stronger than the electronic pulse issued by the collar. The dog is not harmed but astonished. Most of the collars used come with a setting for the intensity of the shock and owners are encouraged to test the collar out for themselves before placing it on their dog. It is less cruel than exposing the dog to accidents or other mishaps.

Invisible fences are in use for decades. This kind of investment is both financially and psychologically rewarding. You’ll have a happy dog playing inside the secured area. Advantages are for both of you. You won’t regret it.

Most providers refer to as the invisible dog fence. Your dog will stop when he hears the warning sound. This could be true in 1971, when the invisible dog fence has been used for the first time,
